This was my second and husband’s first time and it was great. We went on a Saturday around 1pm and we seated in about 7 minutes. They had the brunch menu until 4pm. My husband ordered the burger with home fries. I ordered the Cargo’s Breakfast Platter with a side of Bread Pudding Toast! It took a little while but totally worth it!!! Hot, fresh, and delish!
I’ve been twice now- once on a Saturday night and more recently on a Saturday for brunch. Waiters were super friendly both times. Unfortunately, on the more recent visit we had a lengthy wait between the time we were seated to the time we ordered. Some of the delay was likely due to us originally waiting for more people to arrive (who ultimately didn’t come); however, even after asking (who I’d assume was a manager) to let our waiter know that we were ready to order - he failed to come in a timely manner. We watched him for a bit doing whatever he was doing. He was friendly and personable though. Food- I ordered chicken and waffles. Wasn’t a fan. The waffle had ginger in it which I found to be an odd flavor profile when combined with the hot honey syrup they put on everything. The syrup was spicy too! Combined with the natural spice of ginger I found it all to be too much for me. My mom had shrimp and fries- the shrimp were delish! Dad ordered pork belly. He said it was okay- I didn’t try it. Had a maple glaze on it. My daughter ordered avocado toast. It was good! A large portion and tons of guac on the toast. The ambiance is perfect! Roof top is beautiful. Would go back for the environment and the shrimp.
Within walking distance of the 5 concert venue, the menu was average prices. I jumped on the Ceviche and a Bloody Mary. Both were delicious! Great outside seating and a perfect atmosphere for a lazy Wednesday. I definitely want to try more of the menu.
This rooftop bar has such a gorgeous atmosphere! The sunset reflections off the surrounding buildings were honestly stunning, and if you stand in one corner you can actually catch a bit of the real sunset. The lounge itself faces the bridge, so you also get that full Jacksonville skyline view—perfect for photos and just a great vibe overall. The food we tried was really good, but the selection on the rooftop menu was pretty limited. I also ended up getting two different menus depending on which QR code I scanned, which was a little confusing. The copy of a physical menu didn’t have many drink options that sounded appealing, but the digital one had some great choices. Highly recommend the Rings of Ruin—it was so well-balanced with really nice layers of flavor. We didn’t even branch out and try a different drink, it was so good! Why fix what ain’t broke? It was a bit chilly up there (mid-November), and while there were heaters (not turned on) and a big fireplace in the middle of the group lounge tables. I’m assuming you can ask for them if it is actually cold. Overall, beautiful spot with great drinks and amazing views—just a few small tweaks needed to make it a perfect rooftop experience.
Had dinner at River and Post and it completely lived up to the hype. The atmosphere is classy but still relaxed, and the rooftop view over the river is incredible. I ordered the filet and it was cooked perfectly with great flavor and tenderness. The sides and presentation matched the quality of the main dish. Service was friendly, attentive, and professional from start to finish. The rooftop bar after dinner made for the perfect way to end the night. Definitely one of the best dining experiences in Jacksonville and a spot I’ll keep coming back to.
From the moment we walked into River and Post, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a vibe that felt both upscale and comfortable at the same time. Our server set the tone right away with genuine care and attentiveness — not just polite, but truly engaged in making sure we had the best experience possible. The food was nothing short of amazing. Every dish came out beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. You could tell there was thought put into each flavor profile, and the balance between textures and seasonings was spot on. It wasn’t just a meal, it felt like a well-crafted dining experience. What stood out most was the consistency — attentive service from start to finish, perfectly timed courses, and a kitchen that clearly knows how to execute. It’s rare to find a place where great food and outstanding hospitality go hand in hand so seamlessly. River and Post has quickly become one of my favorite dining spots, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re looking for a restaurant where the food, service, and atmosphere all come together perfectly, this is the place to be.
Place looks great Location is perfect , our waiter was great The food.... we order shrimp and lobster salad . Shrimp was really delicious the salad on the other hand was like they just slapped a frozen lobster on top of the salad zero flavor zero effort. I will definitely come back but not ordering that lobster salad again. Oh drinks were really good too
